CASE # 1341

 

CRIME:   ROBBERY AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

 

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D, Mercer continue their investigation of a Robbery and Aggravated Assault that occurred in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.

 

This incident occurred on August 16, 2006 as the victim worked at the North bound rest area along Interstate 79, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.  At about 6:00 a.m., an unknown male and female arrived at the rest area operating a newer model Blue Pontiac Grand Am, 4 door, with tinted windows.

 

The male suspect engaged the victim in conversation advising that he missed the Slippery Rock Exit and wanted to know how far to the next exit.

 

The suspects went back to their vehicle and then again approached the victim, asking to use his phone.

 

The male suspect then told the victim that his friend (the female suspect) had a gun and had killed before and would kill again.  The male suspect ordered the victim to empty his pockets.  The victim said his money was in his wallet.  But the male suspect said he was not interested in money and only wanted to torture the victim and make him suffer.

 

The victim's hands were bound and he was choked by the suspect until he lost consciousness.  After coming to, the victim's restraints were removed and was again choked to the point of losing consciousness a second time.  When regaining consciousness the second time, the victim was struck in the head with a tire iron.

 

The female did not speak while holding a gun to the victim's head.  The gun was described as a small dark colored handgun. The victim managed to get away and the suspects fled.

 

The male suspect was wearing khaki colored jeans, green sweater, and brown moccasins.  The female suspect wore blue jeans and a dark colored t-shirt
